I'll never understand how this faith in abiogenesis became so widespread. We don't have a fucking clue how likely the process to go from basic chemistry to viable self-replicators is, and the anthropic principle ensures there is no lower bound on how likely it can be.

It doesn't matter how many planets there are, any claims about how common extraterrestrial life is are completely faith-based.
