very interested in sci but finance major... so serious science noob.

Question: what would happen if a human being was hit with a particle accelerator? cause particles to move so fast that he basically ruptures internally? or so fast it passes through and he just dies of serious radiation?

>Well, North Korea, this is stemming from a greater problem, when we're all sitting around asking, 'Oh no, what are we going to do,' and we're not having a lot of faith that the White House is going to come out with a strong enough policy to sanction what it is that North Korea is going to do. So this speaks to a bigger picture that certainly scares me in terms of our national security policy. But obviously, we've got to stand with our [South] Korean allies – we're bound to by treaty....

Does she even know what the fuck she's talking about?

can someone please explain to me what a quantum computer is

wikipedia says it uses atoms and electrons as well as superposition (atoms and electrons being everywhere they can at once) to store memory and increase the ability to process information.

what kind of information are we talking about? aren't there computers already out that can process millions of bits of information? how is a quantum computer better other than being faster at doing it?
