Hey /sci/, in around 7 months I'll be going to university for maths & computer science, but I can't wait.
I'd like book recommendations so I can tell whether I'd like / fully prelearn the maths required for understanding quantum mechanics and general and algebraic topology, I believe including:
Linear algebra (rigorously)
Multivariable calculus
Vector spaces
Analysis (& complex analysis)
Fourier analysis
Topology
Dynamics and vector calculus
Schrödinger equations, time dependent / independent
wave functions, dirac notation (what is a Hermitian conjugate?)
Peturbative expansion
algebraic curves and surfaces
differential topology
projective geometry
topological field theory
quantum groups
Lie groups

Are some of the things I'm aware of. Which books are good to self-learn from, considering I haven't started uni yet?

This, intelligence is the trait we used to gain an edge over other species and take control of the planet. The ability to make and utilise tools is as much part of us as claws, fangs and muscles are part of a lion.
Also we're REALLY well adjusted to running long distance through savannas. Everything from our two leg posture (which means less sunshine absorbing area), to the ability to sweat profusely and thus give away heat really well to our really good stamina let us run long distance through the savanna either chasing after an animal or to a dead animal we'd notice vultures circling around

Math is not true, math is truth itself as envisioned by Plato. Only ignorant i.e. evil people will disagree

Is there a link between mental illness and intelligence? It sorta always seemed to me that anybody I've ever met that came off as pretty intelligent was always kinda mental and eccentric. Thoughts?
