I just got back from my anthropology class that is a part of a community college.
Who here has taken anthropology before and how was it for them? The teacher, what you got from it. Was any part of it offensive? Given that 99% of you guys are anglo saxon caucasian whities, i'm sure that it didn't affect you personally, but from a subjective standpoint?
Granted, this the first class of many of 3 hour blocks taken away from my saturdays,so i was annoyed from the beginning and have no choice but to take the class. Tell me why this teacher has infused his buddhist-spirituality consiencious new agey jargon into my anthropology class. Talking about the first noble law, and how we should be careful about what we value, talking about judgement and nothing relevant to anthropology or what i would imagine since i know very little of it. Is this appropriate in the study of anthropology? Not in the politcally correct sense, since i would much rather not have spirituality in my sciences. But is it fucking relevant or am i just mad? Because i am mad.
