Maybe there are stupid happy people out there. Maybe they are happier than you are. And life isn't fair, and you won't become happier by being jealous of what you can't have. I suspect the vast majority of /sci/ could not achieve the "happiness of stupidity" if they tried. That way is closed to you. You can never achieve that degree of ignorance, you cannot forget what you know, you cannot unsee what you see.

The country that terminates it's dependence on fossil fuels is the country the owns the future. As oil and other "dirty" sources of energy begin to dwindle, wars and national crisis' will break out in every single developed region.

The establishment of solar, wind, geothermal, hydro-electric, and above all else nuclear energy infrastructure is the most important step any government/society can take to ensure future prosperity.

amirite?

We use oil for WAY more than just power. Roads, tires, pharmaceuticals, computers, everything. It's ubiquitous. There's people already calling this the age of petroleum.

Global warming is NOTHING compared to what happens when we hit peak oil production. That's the shit that keeps me up at night.
