Has anyone made a decent "current state of spaceflight" video recently? I'd like to show something to my wife to get her up to speed on what's currently happening with different launchers and programs without autistically mumbling at her for an hour.

Not sure desu. Maybe Spoke? I would have applied there, but I had to flee the Seattle area. It's gotten really bad. Right now I'm working as an A&P to gain experience before applying with a spaceflight company. Fingers crossed that society can keep together long enough for me to turn bolts on a spacecraft. Not sure which route to go.

We need a 4ASS mission to turn Jupiter's magnetosphere into a solar system wide radio broadcast system. The frequency should ideally be something vital to radio astronomy so the whole planet's radio astronomy research comes to a grinding halt until someone goes to Jupiter and physically retrieves the probe. I've been telling you guys for years this is real science.

I have been working on the design of what I'm calling an "aether mill", a system for using Quantized Inertia effects to convert QI thrust into rotational motion to spin a generator and get more electricity out than the initial electricity needed to activate the thrusters. If QI works this doesn't violate any conservation laws, so I'm going to watch for the Transporter-8 test payload before I get to the point of physical experiments.

We are now in a timeline where a quantized inertia thruster could apply delta-V to a spacecraft in orbit before a RapVac does. Welcome to the future, let's get retarded.

That... might actually have enough thrust to work? It'd need to have a pretty beefy orbital maneuvering system, but with solids you've got the mass/volume budget for a couple of RVacs or some beefed up Apollo CSM variant AJ10s. I guess the only failure mode is the general lack of an abort mechanism, but with the solids internal to the spacecraft you don't have to worry about the O-ring problem the Shuttle had and can do single castings.

Boys, we need to send it to the ISS. Make it a solar electric microwave plasma thruster with water prop and there should definitely be enough delta-V if it launches at the right inclination. 4chan getting living payload there would humiliate literally billions of people.
