I just graduated with a Physics BS. I've spent the last 4 months looking for a job and have only had 5 interviews. I'm planning on getting a masters, but also really need to make money because I am LE BROKE.

Overall GPA suboptimal (2.83) due to personal trouble/dempanic. But recovered last 2 years with 3.14. Don't really have any prospects for solid letters of rec. Recruiter told me yesterday that it's over for me if I don't get a PhD. I want to work in optical design/photonics.

Any advice?

Taking a software engineering class and the professor is always talking about how the students must keep the camera on to simulate a real world work environment. I now even dread going to the class.

I just can't.

School math just ruined it for me.
I studied calculus and subjects which at nature are extremely complex, in their most shallow form, things I do not understand to their core.

trigonemtry functions like COS and SIN are something most math pupils don't understand at core.

How am I supposed to understand things that mathetmaticans took centeriues to discover?

I feel dumb because I can't be gauss, or a good mathematician.

I hate high school math so math.

Engineers why do we need to write lab reports for both engr and phy classes if have to take technical writing? Every lab report is tedious, and repeatative.

I need to show that for 2-cycles [math](1a)(1b)(1a) = (ab)[/math].

To start with I don't know if what I'm doing is the correct way to arrive to what I want to show (I'm a beginner with Group Theory).

I did this:

[math](1a)(1b)(1a) = (1a)(b1)(1a) = (1a)(b1a) = (1a)(ab1) = (1ab1) = (a11b)[/math]

Then I don't know what to do... Tbh I don't know if I'm doing the correct thing here, lol. Somebody can help me?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C3%89variste_Galois

Galois was born on 25 October 1811 to Nicolas-Gabriel Galois and Adélaïde-Marie (born Demante).[1] His father was a Republican and was head of Bourg-la-Reine's liberal party. His father became mayor of the village after Louis XVIII returned to the throne in 1814. His mother, the daughter of a jurist, was a fluent reader of Latin and classical literature and was responsible for her son's education for his first twelve years. At the age of 10, Galois was offered a place at the college of Reims, but his mother preferred to keep him at home.
The Cour d'honneur of the Lycée Louis-le-Grand, which Galois attended as a boy.

In October 1823, he entered the Lycée Louis-le-Grand, and despite some turmoil in the school at the beginning of the term (when about a hundred students were expelled), Galois managed to perform well for the first two years, obtaining the first prize in Latin. He soon became bored with his studies and, at the age of 14, he began to take a serious interest in mathematics.

He found a copy of Adrien Marie Legendre's Éléments de Géométrie, which, it is said, he read "like a novel" and mastered at the first reading. At 15, he was reading the original papers of Joseph Louis Lagrange, such as the Réflexions sur la résolution algébrique des équations which likely motivated his later work on equation theory, and Leçons sur le calcul des fonctions, work intended for professional mathematicians, yet his classwork remained uninspired, and his teachers accused him of affecting ambition and originality in a negative way.[1]
