0.8 + 0.1 = 0.9
0.88 + 0.11 = 0.99
0.888 + 0.111 = 0.999

For a < 0.89, b = 0.111...
a + b < 1

0.88 + 0.111... = 0.99111...
0.888... < 0.89
0.888... + 0.111... < 1
0.999... < 1

0.999--- = 1
but only cause 0.999--- doesn't actually exist as finite numbers with which to do maths?
And 0.111--- or 0.222--- or 0.333--- or 0.nnn--- also dont actually exist, so there would be no reasonable way of evaluating 0.999--- as a sum?
So 1/3 = null point inter-three
null point inter-three × 3 = 1?
8/9 = null point inter-eight
1/9 = null point inter-one
null point inter-one + null point inter-eight = 1

What about a number like 1/11?
Would that be 0.0inter-nine or what? That evaluates to 0.090909--- and you don't have an inter number for either 0 or 9.
