9.8m/s^2 is the acceleration of gravity at earth's surface, not everywhere.

The force (and therefore the acceleration) of gravity is given by ((G*m1*m2)/r^2). G is the gravitational constant( 6.67*10^-11 (m^3)(kg^-1)(s^-1)).

Since black holes have "infinite" mass, the force of gravity begins to affect even light (which is a supposedly massless particle).

But basically we don't fucking know because fucking relativity doens't really explain it and neither does newtonian physics.
