fun fact: a shit tonne of viruses are membrane bound like :rhinovirus, ebola, polio, HIV,SIV and influenza. I think the better example is to say they dont have organelles.

influenza is classified by its membrane surface proteins hemagglutinin and neuraminidase types. hence the system of classifying types of influenza like H1N1, H5N1, ect.

also the grey part in this graphic (pic related) is the membrane
