That's not quite right. Epigenetics will significantly influence IQ. The more adverse the upbringing, the lower the IQ tends to be. It's not merely a matter of necessity; other adaptive responses such as sociopathy may take precedence.

I'm not saying genetics does not play a role, but at the same time, it does not have such a high influence as you might first perceive. Here you have two ants with the same DNA, interesting how they look and function completely differently.
