Maybe, some of the next gen dark matter detectors look quite sick. The new Solar Axion Telescope is gunna be cool and XENONnT sounds v impressive. Even if they don't find anything they'll surely point us in the right direction

Dramatically incorrect.
Colours don't "react" with light, colour is a property of light. Each photon has an energy and that corresponds to the colour that we see. The colour of an object depends on the colour (energy) of the photons it either reflects or emits (at low temperatures almost all the emitted light is invisible IR).

The probability of a photon reflecting depends on the colour of the photon, the refractive index of the material, the polarisation of the light
