My theory is that the magnetic field is directly linked to the movement of the stars. It is the stars moving around us, not the earth moving. If true, this destroys the globe model.

Magnetism comes from the "stars" rotating around us. What we call magnetic north is actually polaris and the area that the southern stars rotate around is magnetic south.
