Clearly not true. You’re OP was about a proposed subatomic particle right? I doubt you were just larping. You actually read and understand this sort of material right? How about… “sometimes I find retaining information difficult” Yeah, if you’re studying advanced physics math and science, no shit.
In regard to your purported lack of drive you can work on this. Victor Frankl was paraphrasing Nietzsche when he said that a man with a why can bear almost any how. Write a life plan. Seriously. What have you got to lose? The worst that could happen is that you don’t manage to accomplish what you set out to. So what?

You’re going to have to change your ways and I believe you can. If you keep doing what you’ve always done you keep getting what you’ve always got. I assume you are being supported by a spouse of family member? Take this time to strategise.
