baby's first set theory i know but this has bugged me for a while and i thought some of you guys have probably seen it before.

"Let sets A and B both of which have two distinct members. Prove that there is a subset W c A x B that is not the cartesian product of a subset of A with a subset of B. (Not every subset of a cartesian product is a cartesian product of a pair of subsets) "

Thanks in advance guys.

Can you imagine what it would be like to be a bear? Or a different person?

Why did your genetic code give rise to your consciousness? There are billions of genetic codes giving rise to consciousness' that aren't yours, for billions of years....what was so special about yours?

If probability is true then you shouldn't be alive

What are the benefits of devoting yourself to an intellectual life over a physical one?

i.e excel in powerlifting, martial arts, athletics...or, excel in brainy science stuff...

>Just a moment, son. It's time we had that talk about you rethinking your full physics scholarship to the University of Calgary and helping your old man out with the farm.

Well, shit OP. Yeah. Look we've already been through all this several times before. This conversation is getting old, and emotional. Sour emotions gotta stop. Facts suck, deal with what you got and stop caring about it.

GRE exam. Quant section.

Anyone done the GRE? How difficult is the math section? I've done up to Calc II, linear algebra, static/dynamic optimization and basic stats.

I took a look at it and it doesn't seem to bad, but I've heard of math majors getting like 720...or worse...wtf...

Is 800 the best you can do? How much studying is required.

I've heard every face you have seen in a dream was one you had previously come across in real life. My question is this - is it possible to have a dream about a face from a photograph? From my own personal experience I can recall having dreams that involved faces from cinema, but I am unable to remember a specific case where a picture provided the image. I am wondering because there's this girl and I have a crush on her and even though I haven't seen her in like omg five whole years now or whatever she appears in my dreams like monthly, whereas there's this erotic model whom I stare at for hours daily *at least* and I haven't once had a dream about her.

Evolution takes too long to observe.

You can't observe it therefore it's not scientific.

ITT we post FAILINGS OF EULER.

I'll start: He spent 40 years on and off trying to prove Lagrange four squares theorem, never managed.
