Geomorphology

Geomorphology is obviously my favorite. We're studying soil erosion this week, last week was lake transport we went on a field trip to Stockton Bar
http://geology.utah.gov/map-pub/survey-notes/geosights/stockton-bar/

Where we saw 1/2 meter clasts moved solely by wave action. The estimated size of the waves needed to move 1/2 meter clasts is about 8 meters but Lake Bonneville had a long fetch and during storms could have had the power to generate 8 meter waves.

All you suckers doing experiments indoors. My lab is the world.
