Why am I doing this to myself. I was never good at math.

hey , i've come up with a problem but I can't seem to solve it and neither can any of my friends. (probably cause i'm terrible at explaining it but I'll try my best)

you're are given a random integer, anywhere between 1,000 and 100,000
this represents a world's population

you have 5 cultures that exist on this world, and we want to divvy out from that total population, a random percentage to each race. it can be totally random how its handed out, you could have the same amount for each race, a healthy diversity or a single race that wins out over the others. any race is equally likely to have a completely random chunk of this population

once each culture has their populations, they're spread out into 4 regions, north, south, east and west in a similar fashion. then, each region divides its races up into classes in the same fashion.

example:

>world population: 1000
>culture x gets 10% of that, so there are a total of 100 x people in the world
>50% of x live in the north, 10% of x live in the south, 20 % to both east and west
>of the 50% of x that live in the north, 45% live in the city, 40% live in settlements, and 15% are wanderers
>of the 45% of northern x people that live in the city, 2% are wealthy, 10% are in law enforcement, 40% are lower class, 30% are middle / upper class and the remaining percentage are immigrants

you get the idea of how it subdivides.

the problem is how do you write this out as an equation for each step so that way you don't sacrifice diversity and no one part his inherently more likely to win out than the others (but it still could on a very rare chance)

I really like the subject of cryptography, but it might be the most useless knowledge ever. Its only practical purpose will be to solve puzzles. I don't have any information that requires such a level of security that I'd have to encrypt it.
