I was watching a show on History channel last night that was talking about the possibility of reincarnation and how one of the professors at the University of Virginia in the 60s was studying it. I fell asleep before it could end since it was like 1:30 in the morning, but has there ever been a scientific study done on reincarnation and what were the results?

As best I could tell the guy was interviewing people who had past life memories and even as children they knew things about dead people on the other side of the world they couldn't possibly have known, like names of relatives, dates, etc. I don't know how you would test this but it seems like something they can't just make up, especially pre-internet. I wonder if modern brain imaging technology could help somehow.
