so we all admit that bulk string theories in 5D anti-de Sitter space have a 1-1 mapping with 4D conformal field theories defined on the boundary of that anti-de Sitter space. it's clear -- the AdS/CFT "dictionary" spells it all out.

however, i'm worried that these things might not translate to the actual universe, since it is de-Sitter (not anti-de Sitter [AdS]). maybe it is all a fluke?

Lenny Susskind, i.e. the Boss Clown of the Stanford Clown Posse, says that black holes are holographic because muh-I-Beat-Hawking, and that proves holography right in the real world. honestly, that seems weak.

so what do you guys think? holography=real or holography=meme?
