>mfw in a Kurzweilan future this kind of shit will actually happen.

Most of us probably would spend all of our time in virtual reality though. Assuming there is a singularity and we actually get caught up in it by having our minds preserved and improved upon along with the rest of the robots.

I mean all this talk really is so far fetched and transhumanist porn that it seems silly to talk about, but what the hell is there going to be to do when you are THAT immortal? Your mind could be backed up and immaterially associated with any particular physical thing. You'd just be riding the wave of intergalactic expansion and mega-intelligence.

Eventually there is going to be an end to it. Given as much time as there is the robots (along with you I guess) will become as close to godlike as possible. What do you do then? Just entertain yourself. You know as much as you can, you've explored the universe. Time to simulate tentacle rape for eternity.

Why does there have to be a first thing. That seems inconcievable to my mind (pic related).

The fact is that there is stuff. There could have been nothing, but there is something. It's really easy to imagine a reality where there was nothing and there was always nothing. I mean, it's hard to think of nothing, but it's easy to abstractly say if there was never a universe and never ANYTHING at all that existed, then it could have been that way forever.

The same thing strikes my mind when I think of a universe filled with stuff. Theres just stuff, in fact there is no such thing as nothing because there is something. Most people seem to see there being "something" as the wierd idea, but since there is something then the real foreign idea is that there is such a thing as nothing.

The fact is that there is just stuff. Theres no such thing as nothing and there never was and there can't be because there is something. It never needed a beggining, it's reality. It's the way shit is.
