Hey guys. I'm participating in a text-only turn-based fighting game tournament next month, and I'm trying to optimize the shit out of my build for lulz.

I'm trying to figure out what my chance of one-shotting the other players is. Everyone will be set to 1,000 health. Assuming my current maximum damage (x) is 1,344 and my current minimum damage (y) is 296, how do I calculate my chance of doing OVER 1,000 health in one attack (z)?

I am uniquely terrible with math, so what I came up with was "((1,344-1,000)/(1,344-296)) = z" AKA "(Max damage minus 1,000 health) divided by (full range of my damage)" but that somehow seems terribly wrong because I know for a fact I am a dumbass and don't really know how probability works.

Pic unrelated.
