Well, we can already create human-animal hybrids, it's just that they are mostly... Sheep embryos with human cell proteins and such; and the law requires us to kill them and harvest the stem cells after about 14 days, and some states in the US have banned it entirely; probably after finding their children's computers filled to the brim with furry porn.

Even if they were born I doubt they would look too different from whatever species they were derived from.
