On a scale of 1 to 10, how scientifically reliable is cosmology?

What's the best space related area of study for someone who isn't great at math? I can power through it if I have to, but I've always struggled with math.

I really want to contribute to the exploration of space though, so I figure I should pick something that's not as complicated as like astrophysics or whatever.

Does anyone casually read textbooks?

Does anyone read textbooks outside of their field? Like a physicist reading biology.

Seems like it would be nice to have a base knowledge of a wide variety of fields but I'm not sure if it's just completely pointless. And textbooks are pretty tedious

Why do people think cosmology is a science? It's just a bunch of guys telling that their opinions are facts. Totally indistinguishable from philosophy.

What scientists are the most deserving of praise? Like are the typical ones (Einstein, Newton, Galileo etc) or some more obscure ones?
