There's no point in advancing space travel.
Best case scenario is we're confined to our solar system forever due to the distances being too great, and on top of that we're all stuck in a system-wide surveillance state run by a tyrannical government. Worst case we're all exterminated by our own AI within 100 years.

Incels will be the preferred candidates for early Mars colonization. No threat of ever impregnating the women there.
Are you going to sign up, /sfg/?

What is, bear with me now, instead of changing universes you just took a shitload of mind altering substances.

SpaceX is about to make the launch industry a lot more boring. By 2029, only SpaceX, Blue Origin, China, and India will still be fielding launch vehicles.

Nuclear power will never be viable.
Renewables like wind and solar are easier to set up, cost less, are safer, and pollute less.

My concept of the mulltiverse is that every black hole has a universe inside it and we ourselves are inside one too. The big bang is like the moment the star collapssed into a blackhole in a higher universe to create ours. It's also like a universe naural selection, maybe each black hole universe has slightly different rules in their physics which means only some can be "stable" enough to create more black holes and in-turn more universes.

>worried about the overpopulation crisis and man's damage to the environment
>pump more money into cancer, diabetes, Alzheimer's, obesity and mental health research to save precious lives

Why are scientists such hypocrites?

Can the real numbers be defined starting from the complex numbers (algebraic closure of the rationals)?

Should conspiracy theories and other irrational beliefs that can easily spread from person to person be considered communicable mental illnesses? And if so, has the internet made it easier for these diseases to spread?

Example 1: Transgenderism is impossible to justify, since it makes no sense for someone to say "I feel like a woman". He would have no way of knowing that. But transgenderism is perfectly easy to explain if it's a socially contagious mental illness, which can spread via the internet, where men have the delusion they are women.

Example 2: 9/11 conspiracy theories, which make no sense (claiming there were no planes?!), but are easily spread via "Zeitgeist" video etc.

Human beliefs tend to be based on what our peers think. In the online world, you can find a peer group who believe just about anything. If so, this suggests we need the digital equivalent of a condom to shield our minds from beliefs that we don't want. Skepticism, exposure to other views, and critical thinking are pencillin against the bad beliefs we already have, while careful selection of our "friends" and reading material are prophylactics.

It's true that medical science hasn't discovered this phenomenon, but by its very nature it may be hard for researchers to publish such a discovery.

"Transgenders", Muslims, conspiracy theorists, and so on would be furious to have it pointed out, since these pathological beliefs form part of their sense of self. If you like, these diseases have their own defense mechanism which allows propagation and makes them resistant to discovery.

I welcome critical comments on this hypothesis.
