Vancouver, BC here.

>tfw when was sunny earlier, cloudy midday, and kind of clear again now but there are still clouds around and things could easily cloud over again

Is there any scientific validity for this section of the video? Memory consolidation is required for the formation of new associations? Doesn't sound right.

Let's say we have 2 people, identical atom by atom. Let's say one of them dies. Would the dead person be conscious through the first person, considering that they're materially identical? If consciousness is materially based, wouldn't it be the case?

And what if a person is to be dissasembled and reassembled atom by atom? Would they still be conscious after being reassembled?

Does anyone else feel like they've been born to lose?

Like in these modern times there is so much to learn and only so much time to learn it. By 'it', i mean the academic knowledge and skills to be able to land a good career that makes serious bank.

But like, fuck, you go though this school system that coddles you with namby pamby liberal P.C. bullshit, when really they should be cramming serious academics down you from say age 6 at the least.

There really shouldn't be any time at all for leisurely stuff such as tv or vidya. Maybe a few movies and books, but that's it. But look what the youth have now, a plethora of entertainment, facebook, days-long, hyper-realistic games. Taking your time growing up is a privilege younger generations got to enjoy, but not this generation. Society is simply spinning far too quickly now. If you don't get on board as early as possible, you miss it.

For example, just look at how insanely advanced even a home computer is. How the fuck is someone expected to be able to figure out how this technology functions, unless they dedicate years, starting young when their minds are supple.

No wonder the Asians are taking over, they have had this shit figured out for years. For them it's either start learning your second language and calculus from age 6, or gtfo you disgrace.

Why are you mother fuckers making this fucking retard into a celebrity like Justin Bieber?

IF WE DON'T GIVE HIM ATTENTION, HE WILL DIE.

He isn't smarter than any other person on /sci/, he is age doesn't surprise me.

He isn't going to be successful since he's all fucking theory.

The past few months I've noticed i've been damp and i seem to be producing a lot water around me. about a month ago I removed my underpants while in bed because my bollocks were not comfy and I swear I saw water all about them as I crumpled them in front of me, it was terrifying. Right now for examplen I have a big fuzzy blanket on me and If I rub it in my head I can clearly hear swishing and I can also feel the moisture on my ears.

Maybe you have a water leak or your diet is making you extra sweaty.

" There are 400 billion stars out there in our galaxy alone. Now if only one out of a million of those stars had planets. Alright? And if just one out of a million of those had life. And if just one out of a million of those had intelligent life…there would be literally millions of civilizations out there."

If neutrinos can go faster than light, and have a mass (yes, neutrinos HAVE a mass, you dumb idiot), doesn't that mean that we could make neutrino thruster which could produce enormous thrust and get us to the stars rather fast?

If I wanted a girl for the simple goal of ejaculation, I'd look at porn.

If I'm going to have sex with a girl, I'd prefer she didn't look like a recovering meth addict.

What area of science studies what people are the most likely to support (and what branch of this area)? And what qualities/values one has to have for him to be (potentially) strongly supported by the largest amount of people possible?

Look at Hitler's speeches for example, it feels like they were well thought-out and designed to appeal as much as possible to the largest amount of people possible.

Here's an example:

News science gets built off old science. WOW, realy fucking ground breaking...LMFAO.

Sounds like a very shitty and obvious statement to build a whole thesis on. No wonder people say philosophy is a fail. Anyone who doesn't understand the whole "sholders of giants things", shouldnt even be in college.

What's next, a thesis that "proclaims people dance to music". Realy fucking breakthrough philosophers! LMAO
