so 4chan here's my story:
>be an introvert in highschool
>no friends
>no social live
>studied 'university' level maths till calculus 3 and was about to get to analysis in my own
>be prasied and well respected by my peers/family/teachers
>now
>go to cheap college to lessen the tuition burden on my family
>1st year aced my courses
>2ed year get fucking unbearable boredom from everything
>still has no 'real' friends' just friends with benefits
>not even attending the college
>playing KSP the whole time
>feels that all i know about maths will be forgotten
>really feels so bad
>my self esteem is very fucking low
>was thinking about suicide

just... the real meaning of totally fucked up

When you talk to someone who genuinely cares about their major more than you do and you feel really dumb because they know shit like it's the back of their hands.

I feel like I'm motivated, but significantly less motivated than them. I'm not spending every hour of my free time reading scientific papers or cutting edge physics research. I'll watch a video occasionally. If I want to learn something, I'll try looking up multiple resources for the topic. But I dunno, it feels like it doesn't "stick" as well now. Maybe I read it but I don't understand it. I think I've read up on the singlet and triplet five times and I STILL don't understand what they are. I feel stupid and unaccomplished, and my near-straight B average since I started upper division physics courses shows it.

/g/uy here.

I need help with a math problem, my teacher wasn't any help when I e-mailed him, so I was hoping you guys could help me.

OK so, there's a sequence of square numbers, and I had to find the pattern with the remainder.

It went something like this

S = 1, 4, 9, 16, 25

Which was pretty much

S = 1^2, 2^2, 3^2, 5^2

I had to divide each square number by four to see if there was a pattern in the sequence.

When I divided each number by 4, that wasn't a multiple of four, I got .25 something.

Apparently the problem wasn't referring to division with decimals, but division with remainders (According to my teacher)

The correct pattern to the sequence was

S = 1,0,1,0,1

What the fuck am I doing wrong?
Am I over thinking this?
How are they getting one as a remainder to 1/4? Should I be looking at it as fractions?
