Scientifically? No, not unless someone manages to invent an instrument to see into the afterlife under lab conditions to prove objectively there is one.
Could there be? Sure, plenty of NDE testimonies.

Factually incorrect.
To qualify as a religion you would have to worship something and believe said something's words as absolute moral laws. Which doesn't apply to simulation theory.
Schizos interestingly enough are actually onboard the simulation train too, they just believe the hypothetical supercomputer that's generating the physical reality is their godlike "higher-self".

This is the original chicken and egg which came first question posed for thousands of years.
The only answer is a schizo tier one I've seen on /x/.

Whatever sense it might or might not make, physics' utility lies in predictability, hence why you can build rocket ships with it.
Modern physicists went all-in on said predictability and left any other considerations to the dust. Any imaginary inventions, so long as it can somehow predicate the numbers, gets enshrined.
Exactly what long-term repercussions this practice will have is anybody's guess. But in the short-term it does make technological progress.
So yes, to put it bluntly, a lot of things are made up. But the made up things do get the job done.

hey /sci/, so are all particles in this galaxy have fixed amount?
if so, does that mean when something pop up into existence or disappear from existence it basically just rearrangement of particles?
i.e. there are 1000 particles
>something pop up into existence that consists of 100 particles
it splits into 100 and 900
>something dissappear from existence
100 merged with 900

Third-worlder here. Can someone explain the widespread use of mental health drugs in the west? SSRIs, anti-anxiety, anti-depressants, etc. I know people who lost their businesses and relatives in a short span of time and have never heard nor care about these drugs. Are these a scam?

OCD is caused by a lack of seratonin not allowing neurons to send information. This is why you wash your hands for 20 minutes when 20 seconds is enough; your hands are squeeking from how clean they are as you wash them under the sink, with red skin, yet you "feel" as if they aren't clean yet, when they're probably the cleanest part of your body at that moment.

Your brain is literally not recieving the message, so you repeat over and over until the message is finally transferred and recieved. This is also why completing rituals is so relieving. You are releasing dopamine, training your mind to continue to perform the rituals. It is a cycle of degeneration. You need an SSRI to remove OCD. Your brain is in a loop of little seratonin -> dopamine relief -> less seratonin next time, that felt nice, we are doing something good!

The preference for dopamine contributes to the delusions, rationizing ridiculous behaviors, paranoia over contamination and so on.

Did you go directly to university or did you transfer from community college? You're supposed to save funds by choosing community college, but you seem to lose many benefits.
Transferring looks like a nightmare, you cannot pass out of classes if you want them to transfer so you ens up wasting time, and you lose all of the relationships you developed once you transfer. Community colleges also have fewer resources for internships and so on. I'm beginning to think
> top university > mediocre university > community college transfer(even if it's a decent university)
The higher cost unironically seems worthwhile.

What are some essential books if I want to get some base level general knowledge of physics?
Like I want to get to a level where I can read papers and reliably understand the general idea presented
Is ''Young and Freedman - University Physics with Modern Physics'' from the sticky a good place to start?
I have no formal education in physics and I only have the shitty math knowledge they teach in high schools in my country (Turkey) but I'm willing to work hard to learn
