Leonard Susskind and Nambu Yoichiro (first proposal as description of hadron)?

or Micheal Green and John Schwarz (anomaly cancellation)?

Can we confirm or deny the existence of other forces beyond the 4 fundamental forces (weak, strong, electromagnetic, gravity)? For example, how do we know that there arent interactions unique to dark matter that our normal everyday matter doesnt participate in?

is string theory detrimental to modern theoretical physics? i've heard things along the lines of it just being a mathematical framework with no empirical basis but i was wondering if anyone knew the details of it.

string theory/m-theory general

What would happen if a string gets torn apart?
Would it be equivalent to the "rip through the fabric of reality itself"-meme?

Redpill me on string theory /sci/.

Is it falsifiable? Is it simpler than the Standard Model? Can it be used to extrapolate to the Standard Model in terms of a finite number of measurable physical quantities?

Stackexchange can't seem to explain it without resorting to a bunch of nonsense homo words.
