So mind control is a genuine thing, and yet no one's freaking out about this?

Hey /sci/! just got a small question on my numerical analysis homework. I am having problems starting this FFT problem because our prof was out and some grad student apeshit their way through it. Help please?

Find the continuous least squares trigonometric polynomial S_2(x) for f (x) = x^2 on [−π, π].

I think it gets sent to some third world shithole school. It will probably get replaced with more of those "Conflicting viewpoints" books that are written so kids doing their argument paper in English Comp 1 have their research spoon fed to them.

Seriously, those and The Hunger Games are the only new books we've taken in for since I've been there. They've been purging a bunch of good old stuff for a while. I didn't care when they were working on the Social Sciences and Philosophy sections. But they just hit the science and math section about a week ago. It's been...awful.

Because if the Big Bounce Cycle was true, the Universe would be slowing down in its expansion today, but instead the movement of galaxies away from the Milky Way show its speeding up towards a cold, dark oblivion.

Shit sucks I know.
