The secret here that nobody will tell you is that civil engineering allows you to live somewhere rural with a low cost of living and still earn a municipal government city. When you see CS jobs with salaries of like $120,000 or whatever, you have to remember that these jobs are generally wagecuck city jobs where 30% or more of your income is spent on rent. Not even a mortgage, just rent. Think about that for a second. Also, civil is arguably the most versatile discipline because you can work in transportation, geotechnical, water (which is almost like its own branch of engineering honestly), structural, municipal, construction management, asset management, etc. There is something for everyone. Job prospects are steady because society needs people who understand shit and water.

My reason for choosing civil is that you can live in an area with a relatively low cost of living and still have a pretty solid salary. I would rather make $70,000 in a rural area than $100,000 in a place like Vancouver or Toronto.

Do any of you faggots know where I can find some case studies specifically pertaining to building envelope failures? Thanks in advance.
