>no actually the only reliable source of data, satellite data show no increase in temperature.
Then why are all the glaciers melting?
Even Republican politicians are admitting global warming is real.
Now they're just denying it's caused by humans.

>I don't know jack shit about climate science, but is the occurrence of particularly harsh winters and summers known to be caused mostly by us ?

>particularly harsh winters and summers

Where were you before the 1990's?
This shit used to be normal.
Hell, in the '70's the Chesapeake bay froze over.

>We've had a several fairly significant winters in the last 10 year or so with this one being one of the coldest and snowiest in the USA in a long while.

Here in Virginia, the last two winters are only unusually "cold and snowy" in comparison to the last twenty years.
This is what winter was like every year in my youth (late 60's through the 70's).
Hell, the Chesapeake Bay froze over in the mid 70's.
Even the 80's were far more "wintery" than the 90's and 21st century so far.

ITT: I love it when /pol/ comes to visit /sci/.
Both sides walk away thinking they "won" the "debate".

I have trouble finding a decent article/paper on this:
Weakening of the polar vortex due to global warming, and subsequently colder temperatures in North America/Europe
- has this theory been confirmed or disproven? I only find speculation.

LET ME POINT YOUR ATTENTION...TO THIS:

Despite the last week or so in the east USA, this winter is still one of the warmest for most of the world, especially Russia (Where unfortunately the winter Olympics will be) and the east united states (where there has been a record setting lack of snow and warm temperatures, which will lead to terrible drought this summer.)

Global warming isn't confined to Florida.
