Need help /sci/!

My problem with this question is that after finding the eigenvalues which are obviously complex, I put them into my diagonal matrix and find such a matrix P that M=PDP-1. However, the question does not want i's in the final formula, I tried converting the eigenvalues to polar form, and it wasn't right. So can anyone shed some light on this?

So my question is given that I have 2 complex eigenvalues with 2 eigenvectors with i's in them. How do I get rid of the imaginary part so that I can find a formula such that M^n=PD^nP-1
