I have finally decided to stop being a brainlet, sue the brain God gave me, and study some mathematics.

Any suggested readings, /sci/?

I have never been taught base conversion, logarhythms, etc formally. I learned this TODAY.

Please help me understand how eucleudian division relates to this?
Please explain modulo and the base system?
Please explain how to convert from lower to higher bases, and vice versa?

>inb4 - 4 school
this is not for school. i genuinely want to know what all this shit means. I hunger for knowledge so please give me some.

pic related should be sign enough that i'm a brainlet who hasn't touched more than K-12 maths. Don't take me for a moron, i have somewhat of an idea of what is happening.

Today, dearest /sci/, we are going to count to 50 in mathematical formulas, logarhythms, and anything that is not as straight forward as simply counting like a brainlet.

You may build off of anothers work, only rule is that it must me counterintuitive and intelligent.

I will begin:
>Logb,y = x
>where b =1, and y = 1

Often i find on /sci/ a bunch of mathematicians or unprofessional scientists bragging about how intellectual they are in comparison to normies. Today i have decided to burst that bubble by suggesting the ultimate brain, superior to all supposed "brains" here on /sci/.

It seems that /sci/ follows the case of scientism (a term i coined now): a belief that scientific knowledge is all that is required to understand life, the universe, and everything in it.

What this perspective fails to realise, is that Science is not all there is to life, and relying of science alone to understand everything leaves one with an incomplete picture on life, lacking parts or understandings that the following two elements provide.

If you haven't picked it up by now, i am suggesting the holistic lifestyle of the uber-brain.

The first understanding is that of the mind. Indeed a strong mind is the core of any brain, but /si/ seems to have 1 element (science) but lack 2 fundamental elements to a holistic mind: Science, Philosophy, and Spirituality. Now before you atheistic brains ignore this segment, give me an opportunity to explain myself. One does not nessecarily need all three elements in order to have a healthy mental lifestyle, though the spiritual aspect (as unscientific as it may seem) seems to play an important role on the psyche that seems to maintain moral and social balance. Science (as you may already know) is an element to the mind that requires critical thought and curiosity amongst all situations across life, a level of skepticism (and not cynicism) that allows one to find deeper truths about the physical (and sometimes even philosophical) nature of our world. Philosophy being the mother of all sciences allows one to reach for further understandings that science lacks the ability to explain, such as the meaning of life, metaphysics, why we are here, consistency of self, etc.

Hello /sci/, novice programmer here.
I know that the /sci/ board is about math and science only, but i find that /sci/ would likely be the best fit to determine the superior language. Especially since you all bicker o much over minute shit like fields of science, i though that bickering could be productive for once.

With all this in mind i simply must ask:
Which programming language is the best to learn?

I'm looking for something that:
- can be easily embedded into other languages (like Lua into Java for example)
- Has the most direct compiler (least number of steps between programming language and machine language)
- Universal between the broadest range of systems (Linux, apple, windows, pi, etc.)
- Most efficient (least number of lines of code necessary to get the same stuff done, for example: java requires about 6 lines of code to print "hello world" whereas Lua requires only 1)
- anything else tht would make a progamming language helpful

get to it /sci/.
