A scientific field is what uses scientific method in theory. In practice, many fields in academia are de facto consider science, despite not always delivering the standard what you might expect from natural sciences.

The problem with psychology is the downfall of statistical understanding in new grad students, who therefore lack ability to make credible research. Psychology is a field of science, but lack of standards hurt any field.
