Any medfags here? Is it actually worth it to go to medical school?

We can't stop aging for a while, that shits intense. nanomachine repair systems seem likely

But I kinda just want to put my brain in a robot.

Until recently, I wanted get a graduate degree in biomedical engineering, become the god-emperor of man and work on a ghost in the shell style prosthetic body or at least some sort of nano-machine based maintenance system. Because of amazing LSAT and MCAT scores, I now have the choice of choosing a profession that pays an order of magnitude more than what I would make as a biomedical engineer. I would be significantly more happy in a profession that stresses critical thinking rather than tedious empirical research but I also like to think I am not a hedonistic animal that yearns for a masturbatory lifestyle rather than the necessary one.

How do you rationalize your choices to not enter a field of science devoted to your own permanent survival?
