Depends. Do you want to go into computational modeling? Calculus and algebra are useful. Do you want to do research with neuroimaging methods? Matlab, and matrix algebra are useful. Do you want to study oscillation dynamics? Take trigonometry.

Every once in a while a thread pops up here asking what type of research people would do with x million or billion dollars. It's fun to fantasize about what you could do with great amounts of money. In reality though, grants in excess of a couple of million are reserved for the rock-stars of science, so to speak.

I think it would be a better exercise to think about what you would do with a relatively small amount of money, because realistically that's probably what you'll have to work with when you rake in your first grant.

So I ask you: What would you do with 25000 dollars?

Might as well answer some neuroscience questions. You know, since I'm here anyway.

Taking neuroscience related questions (for about half an hour).
