"We are at the initial stage of flight design tests of the Amur experimental design work. This stage is precisely designed to identify all the nuances that are possible: production, design, technological and operational in nature. Therefore, for developers, canceling launches for technical reasons is quite an ordinary phenomenon," said Yuri Borisov, head of Roscosmos.
According to him, yesterday's cancellation of the launch, related to the abnormal operation of the drain valve, was identified and all necessary measures were developed, which made it possible to successfully pass this stage during today's launch attempt.
"But a new technical problem has emerged, related, according to the results of a preliminary analysis of telemetry, to a malfunction in the engine start control system. Most likely, this is a software error, which will certainly be found today," he noted.
He added that there were no irreversible processes requiring the removal of the launch vehicle from the launch complex.
"Therefore, it is highly likely that after analyzing all the nuances and the conclusion of the state commission, we will preliminarily repeat the launch attempt tomorrow at the same time."
