Do you know when these threads got the most traffic? When deepnude came out for the first time. It turns out that humans are limited primates, not conscious at all contrary to the popular delusion, and that only money and sex motivate them to do anything as they always have since before we became "self aware". If that is not true then where are the charitable AI researchers doing AI research for free and not for career or money? It feels like the world out there is simply not conductive to them and that they never appear because of some repressive reason. There's no such reason. They just don't exist. Because no one does AI research unless there's a significant personal payoff in doing so, as its both a massive time sink and probably the hardest thing you can push right now.

The point of my rant is that you're making an AI general like all the other failed attempts at /aig/, but you forget that you're forcing people to do AI stuff completely anonymously, with no payoff at all on top of that. You must either give them credit to their names and careers, something that 4chan is not built for, or you must give them the payoff that they seek. Which as I said is porn because we're all primates. It's not like we don't have the manpower here, there's enough math PhDs browsing casually to achieve at least something if they ever put their skills to use, the problem is they won't because there's nothing in it for them. So the thread will just die as all the others did. Want to solve this and have your little AI cult on /sci/ shitting out research like a FAANG team? Put improved deepnude at the end of the tunnel and you'll have it in one year. Or have people who successfully show an improvement over CIFAR classification post their bitcoin wallets so you can send them one. Both work, but you're getting nowhere without either.
