This is the place where mathfags delude themselves with the 300k quant jobs, right? What the actual fuck are they thinking? Quantitative finance is a fucking fluke. It tries to derive the best course to take with A SHITLOAD amount of assumptions, that do NOT represent what's actually happening only what's stochasticaly most likely to happen, and then they pump in a huge amount of capital in that obvious insecure and dangerous path. There are too many variables influencing the financial markets and mathematical rigor can't encapsulate that.

You fucking morons!

How can one resort to atheism when there is so much beauty in mathematics and overall in science? How every cell in your body knows how to work together especially when it's trying to heal itself. How amazing gravity really is. How beautiful emotions truly are.

How the FUCK can you then possibly believe there wasn't anything that developed those beautiful things and the laws that govern it? I don't believe in the religious books that were somehow ascended from a transcending place but for fuck's sake, there HAS to be something that 'told' white bloodcells to 'fight' bacterial threats.

I'm not talking about hurr derr, it's JUST fucking nature or whatever. Nature is the observable fucking aggregate of laws, systems. There has to be something that told nature what it should fucking do.

>The way Humanity is trending, we ARE incapable of harnessing that much power. We've wasted out Petroleum Blessing and now face a downslide into reliance on coal and natural gas.
Again, with your warrant-less pessimism. Will there come a time when stuff sucks because of expensive oil giving us a lot of problems? Yes. Will it destroy civilization? No, something cheaper than oil will be transitioned to. Same with coal and natural gas. If the Chinese race for LFTRs succeeds, what will you preach then?

>Our access to space resources has done little else but dwindle.
You lost one child yesterday. If my hypothesis is correct, the human race will die out of existence in eight months at this rate.

>To pull out of his downward trend would require a more and more radical cultural maneuver as time passes.
Ching chong, nip nong.

For me at least, death = antonym of life

C'mon, mock me because I don't like death or ending scarcity.

>Inurdaes, you are ridiculously optimistic about everything, aren't you?
Pfff-bahahahahahahahhaha
Not in the slightest. I really don't want to sound like a dicksnozzle but I have read so much on so many different topics and kept up to date with history and the news that I generally have a fairly good guess at what's gonna happen in the future. In some things I'm an optimist. In others I'm a big pessimist.

No, logical objections were brought up and I showed that they do not have to be a big problem.

If future technologies unfold the way I need them to (which is a fairly high probablity) then yes, I am really fucking serious.
