Hahaha. This semester I did a lab to measure the efficiency of a distillation column. It involved a 5 hour distillation where I had to take samples at every 30 minutes. I used gas chromotography to measure the composition if the distillate and bottoms liquid.

While using the machine, it concluded the analysis, and I was saving everything. At that very moment, the lights went out. I was scared that I would have lost my data. Luckily, the file saved.

H2SO4 (aq) + 2 KOH(aq) -> 2 H2O + K2SO4
you need to balance it, thats why its tricky,
it takes 2 KOH to neutralise 1 H2SO4

Hello /sci/. I'm a math undergrad going into his senior year and it has come time for me to prepare for grad school (perhaps the most frightening thing I've ever done in my life) and I'm having quite a bit of anxiety not only about getting into a decent school and choosing an advisor but how I'll fare in research and coping with the stresses of grad school.

Can any math grad students shed some light on the experience of researching a PhD thesis and settling into math grad school?

I feel like I've wasted time in undergrad trying to build peer social ties when I should've been researching right off the bat. Also, my knowledge of math ingeneral suddenly feels limited when faced with the prospect of soon having to really delve deeply into analysis, topology, algebra and set theory. damn the regret.

again to the math grads, how repared were you before you set out for grad school? in terms of knowledge and research.
