>no, all the matter will still be there, just not moving anymore.

the force of gravity will pull all matter back together where it will eventually collapse in on itself in a black hole.

the universe will be empty at some point in the future.

Okay guys, I basically want to know who the average browser of /sci/ is. Why don't you fill out this chart and maybe even meet people at your university?

time travel is either

1)impossible
2)changes nothing.

The only way a future me could send a rhinocerous through time to my current position is if I am currently witnessing a rhinocerous which just travelled through time.

I see no time travelling rhinocerous right now, ergo it is impossible for a time traveler to send a rhinocerous to this point in time right now.

/sci/

I have the solution to the world's problems.

Currently, the world runs on money. Whoever has the most money wins. It's like a point system.

I like money. Everybody does, it makes life convenient. The fact of the matter is, when money is the main counter of points, people will do unethical things to gain the most points.

What we need to do is implement another form of "points" that are awarded based on goodwill. These points will be more valuable than money. Money will still exist, but it will no longer be the main system of scoring that humanity uses.

Discuss.

Hey there /sci/, I've got another question I'm unsure about and the answer doesn't seem correct (there've been many problems with the answers supplied before).

In school where all students take Math and English, 80% of the students pass Math, 93% of the students pass English, and 4% of the students fail both. What percentages of students fail either Math or English or both?

I say it's:
P(math' or english' or english' and math') = P(math' and english) + P(math and english') + P(math' and english')
=0.2 * 0.93 + 0.07 * 0.8 + 0.04 = 0.282

Now, the answer says
P(Fail Math or English) = P(Fail Math) + P(Fail English) – P(Fail Math and English)
P(Fail Math or English) = 0.20 + 0.07 – 0.04 = 0.23

But that's not what the question was asking! it was asking for P(Fail math or english or both), not P(fail math or english).

So, /sci/, which is right? (or are none of them right?)
