They breed because they don't know about contraception. They breed because they know there is a high mortality rate on children so they have as many as possible so that atleast some of their children survive to support their parents. If they can't understand "use a condom or risk contracting aids" how will they understand "you must stop breeding so that this continent can have a better chance at being self sustaining for x number of people"
