A virtual soccer (football) tournament involving the boards of 4chan, /sci/'s team promoted to this winter's cup after winning autumn. We made it out of this tournament's group stage last Sunday, and will be in Summer's elite cup regardless of what happens from here on out.

How many engineers and CS majors actually end up doing research/helping build something innovative like aerospace, stem cells etc. versus just optimizing on mundane stuff that already exists like creating more efficient laundry detergent manufacturing or server work on a quirky two syllable app that will fail in two months.

Why do some scientists move from academia to industry? A chemist discovering drugs in a university or a company isn't that different, but what about the more drastic changes like physicists or biologists becoming data scientists at tech companies, quants in finance, etc.

Should I even bother trying to go for a math major, I got a B in my multivariable class and I know it just gets harder, and from my highschool and standardized testing I have been consistently a B to B+ student which is basically average or below average in college.

You should be able to solve this problem (standard for highschool students in countries where people poo in the loo)
