Do you think we'll achieve intergalatic travel before 2100?

I mean, we went 35 years from powered flight to jet aircraft and 35 more for landing on the moon, unless we destroy ourselves or the technical limitations make it outright impossible, i wouldnt be surprised to see some pretty incredible advances in 80 years.

Especially considering it seems pretty likely we'll get strong AI going in the next few decades

Theoretically is it possible to build things with subatomic particles directly?

I.e., could a block of matter be composed of quarks or strings that adhere uniformly without amalgamating into atoms?

As they did formalizing calculus, infinity is a concept that is greater than another measurable concept. So you need a measure operation and a comparison operation and you can define something in that category that is infinite.
Like infinite space is a volume of space larger than any is bigger than any measurable volume of space, which we measure by multiplying the distances of orthogonal most faraway points in the three possible orthogonal directions (If it is euclidian space)

Authoritarians crave leadership, submission to authority, guidance, organization and feeling like part of a grander plan. It will be ours, or none.

If you must march, it will be to the beat of our drum. We have designs for this planet and an ambition to set foot on everything beyond it, ambition so wide in scope that someone whose goal in life is to conquer a single dust mote hanging in a sunbeam and to cleanse it of all but one variant of hairless primate would struggle to conceptualize it, owing to a profound lack of imagination.

We will one day populate billions of worlds. There will be no planet in this galaxy which has not felt human feet tread upon it. But we must start with this one, and by unfortunate circumstance it's populated in part by small minded, intellectually inferior, socially conservative, religiously fundamentalist racist garbage. Being of an inclusive bent we can abide by that, provide for your right to life liberty and the pursuit of happiness as we would any other group, but that hinges upon your understanding that the moment you get it in your head that you exist by right and not by the grace of your betters you will be descended upon with an intensity and relentless will to dominate not seen since 1945.

A fire burns in our hearts brighter and hotter by a million times than your petty provincial hatred for equitorial variants of your own species. It's a white hot magma bubbling up from inside of us that drove us down from the trees, out of the caves, and up into space. It is the will to conquer that you fetishize, in it's purest and most constructive expression. Be inspired by it and work in support of our goals or be crushed by that same force and remembered only as a regrettable evolutionary dead end.

>Everyone speaks at the very least the universal language, but can also know others

>No money system, the exact amount of all of Earth's resources are known. They are distributed and recycled according to a large supercomputer that constantly analyzes the data, making sure everyone gets what they need, when they need it

>There is at least one moon base and it has a launching station, so we can make extra-terran launches now, and at least 50 people permanently reside there

>There are no more formal countries, every nation is united as a citizen of Earth

so whats /sci/s opinion on technological singularity?
now while i would love to believe i will live to see a future in which humans will begin to colonize outer space, i feel like scientists and futurists are once again overestimating the speed of our technological growth, i mean c'mon, back in the 80's everyone thought that life in 2015 would be like in back to the future, we are now 5 years away, and we dont even seem close.

so tell me your opinions /sci/
do you think we will reach a rapid growth in technology by 2050?
will we live to see space colonies? super structures? nanomachines? space elevators?

You are given the opportunity to create a country. This country has the potential to be powerful because of huge natural resources, vast expanses of land of all types, an abundance of wildlife and large numbers of people. You are in complete control, either as a dictator-in-the-flesh or as a guiding force that controls the government and the people.

Will your country be a prosperous trade hub? an Orwellian police state? a tyrannical theocracy ruled by propaganda? a perfect socialist state?

What will education be like? What will politics and business be like? How powerful is your military? What is your countries goals, and how will you interact with the world around you?
