Is it worth it to learn all trigonometrical identities and functions?

I have seen teacher who believe pi = 22/7, that never saw the diagrams for trig formulas (pic related), who can't do proofs, who don't know that the quadratic formula aims to place the parabola in the so called "standard position", who *define* using Newton's Theorem.
Many american school teachers don't realky know math, not even the math teachers. Hell, I have seen some who unironically say things like "I'm not a math person".
They just read the book ahead of the studends.
I don't know how things work on Europe, but the lower end of American education is terrible beyond belief.

I'm taking trig and was hoping for some insights. It seems to me that the big takeaway is that if you recognize that the sides of a right triangle are a function of an angle inside the triangle, then you can use this algebraically to figure out things about a triangle that are very difficult to reason about otherwise. For example, finding a formula for rotating a point counter-clockwise by some angle, or the law of cosines. It seems like many of these formulas and laws are derived from observations about the relationships of sides and then taking these ratios and equalities and then solving for a side. The confusion with beginners is from overthinking about the inputs and outputs of the trig functions when instead they need to just remember the definitions. Chiefly that they are ratios and can be substituted into an equation. Does that sound about right?

OP here, slight edit: not that it makes us want to masturbate specifically, it makes us horny and wanna fuck, but usually people end up masturbating out of convenience. Anyway, hope the mods don't delete this thread, I'm completely serious. What is the link between thinking and arousal? Google searches turn up nothing.

I'm trying to get into rigorous calculus/analysis, but my foundation in trig and geometry aren't great.

What's the spivak/apostol of Trigonometry? Of Geometry?

What are some tips to be good at solving high school trigonometry questions? I find myself struggling to apply the equations to the right places and see trough the question even though I remember all the equations and know how they are formed
