I'M SAYING WORDS

So some guy on /b/ gave the following assignment:

a/(b-1) = c/(d+1), solve for d

Using knowledge I gathered from khan academy (don't look at me like that) I found the following two solutions:

d = cb/a - c/a - 1

and

d= (cb - c)/a - 1

Now my questions which I hope to get answered here are a) are these solutions correct and b) which one is preffered?
