Yes, neo-classical economics is a religion. No, that doesn't mean that all economics is unscientific.
The classical theories of Smith, Ricardo, and Marx are empirically proven, including the LTV (unlike pure subjective value theory, it is actually testable). Keynesian macro is also salvageable if you don't artificially assume certain variables are constant for the sake of convenience, and it can be linked to classical economics.
