Quick question sci

If a number is 0≤x≤.999999999

and it is assumed that .999999999 equals 1

does that mean the number x can be .999999999 and 1 if they are considered two separate numbers?

Yeah, you bring up a valid point. I guess the next best thing would be a calculated repositioning of an asteroid in order to set it on a crash course for us, but that'd likely take a considerable while to see fruition, considering it didn't miss us somehow.
