what is /sci/'s position on global warming?

I think it's a load of bullshit. They use computer models instead of actual weather data. if they actually did use real weather data, they would find that the exact opposite has been happening for the last 10 years

I'm kind of at a loss as to what I should study at uni. Some kind of science, chemistry and biology are the two most interesting ones in my opinion, but what can you actually end up doing with a degree in them? I would like to do something productive, that feels like it makes a difference, like I am contributing to man kind or the world in general.

What do you guys do?

I don't understand the general principle behind life. Us humans strive through struggles and stress to achieve a temporary status of power. Following this repetitive cycle, follows death.

Tell me your motivation for life, and why it is important.

If you were to commit suicide nothing would matter, so why should it matter now?

Do people enjoy working for numerous hours? I truly can't understand the reason...

Neglecting any form of faith/religion, what is the point of these meaningless efforts?

If humanity left Earth one day and left a abundant amount of life on earth so it could carry on with out us. What species would evolve into the next intelligent life form?

Is Geography the ULTIMATE science. If you think about it, its physical side goes from chemistry, physics and biology while its human side reaches the broad spectrum of social sciences.

It basically is the ultimate science. Geography students get in here and arm your crayons.

So I have made some wrong educational choices in my life. I am a 19 year old male with a mild case of cerebral palsy. I graduated hs in 2009.
I went to my state university last year majoring in accounting, simply because it comes easy to me. But thats not what I want to do with my life....
So this last Fall I took the semester off to reflect on what I want to do in my future. (Also did some volunteering in Africa.)
Anyways, I have came to the conclusion that I want to be Neurologist. I obviously have a condition that helps me understand the disability side of it, as well as I am very much competent and smart. (31 ACT score fyi.)
So I am going to another state university next Fall with Neurology as my focal point.
This is where I come to you guys for help....
What should I major in for my undergraduate degree (pre-med)?? Biology or Chemistry?? I really don't know....
Any advice would help! Thank You.

I had this idea and I wanted to run it by you to see what you thought.

OK, The biggest issue today is energy. Now what if I told you we had an energy source that was infinite and could supply us with as much energy as we could ever want?

The Machine you ask? The Machine giving us this power is the Earth. The Earth never stops spinning ITS IN PERPETUAL MOTION, we just have to harness this power and were all set.

Why aren't we using the Earth as a Giant perpetual motion Generator?

The Earth is essentially a non stop spinning force that will continue to spin for Millions of years.....why not use that movement to our advantage and create a Generator?

Do you believe in the theory that the earth is a living organism? (The Gaia Theory)

I believe it for the simple reason that a living organism is made up of different systems all working together to maintain self preservation. Considering all of the systems in place the Earth uses I have no doubt the planet itself is alive.
