where do I start learning about higher spacial dimensions?

is there any other way to perceive the 4th dimension from our world than a tesseract?

I think I like the old version a little better. Plus it shows simultaneous rotation in two orthogonal planes, which is something that doesn't happen in 3 dimensions.

Hey /sci/, I had a thought and I want you to confirm it

Alright, so in the second dimension, any two points are guaranteed to have a straight line that passes through them.

In the third dimension, any 3 points are guaranteed to have a flat plane that passes through all of them.

So does that mean than in the fourth dimension, any four points are guaranteed to have a cube that passes through them?

Does math exist inherently in the universe just waiting to be discovered or is it a creation of the human mind?

I thought this was interesting, though I will withhold from making a judgement because i don't know dick about things. What are your opinions?

Same, kudos to him, it is pretty awesome stuff.
Only if we could find the page of the maker of pic related.

Hey /sci/.
I'm in grade 11, and my physics teacher is going on about how I should prepare a science fair project. I have honestly no idea where to start, who to call, what to do, nothing.
Anyone ever competed in a science fair? If so, any tips?
Much appreciated.

No, I was inferring based on very solid, although, I admit, indirect, evidence.

I'm doing a project about regular n-dimensional polytopes, specifically their volume.

I've found a few sources including H.S.M. Coxeter's work, but beyond this I'm having trouble finding any academic work on the subject. Everything I find is really complicated (I'm 17, nearly 18, so I've not been to university yet). Does /sci/ know of any suitable resources?

You know what's interesting to think about?

Our brain can "skip" one dimension and understand the 2d drawing of a cube as a good enough representation of a cube, right? The cube has equal planes, but the 2D will lack that and be skewed, though it's alright.

They hypercube or tesseract, in a 2D representation is that cube inside a cube thing. But there is no way we can look at it and imagine that the cube inside is equal in size of the cube outside of it and that all those lines are at a 90 degree angle.

Then enters this animation right here. Which keeps moving in a hypnotic way. You know what this is? A 3D representation of a hypercube, including time to explain a spatial dimension. It makes a little bit more sense to our eyes, even if it's still not all that palpable.

Anyway, I won't watch your video. Watch Carl Sagan on the tesseract.

That's what this is. It doesn't really look like an actual hypercube; just a shadow of sorts.

With mind-altering substances, the ability to ponder existential ideas becomes a reality, if only to a certain extent. Since using our reason doesn't shed too much light on infinity, maybe experiences with psychotropic drugs can.

Your face when you realize that the universe is a 4d manifold and that the expansion we observe is just due to the "projection" rotating with time.

Pic related, but it is a cube.
